Valentine’s Weekend

Valentine’s Weekend. Names have been changed to protect the innocent.

On Friday, Monday, Dahlias, Linkhs, and myself went to see the Vagina Monologues for V-Day. It was amazing. Some of the monologues, like My Angry Vagina and the one where the audience had to scream ‘cunt’ as loud as they could, were hilarious. My Vagina Was My Village almost made me cry. It was about Bosnian rape camps, and the actors who were performing were amazing. There was also a monologue that involved lesbians, stripping, and screaming orgasms. The actor was a lesbian, she stripped, and there was a trio of women screaming orgasmically at the end.

I spent the majority of Valentine’s day making valentines for people. I made papercraft heart boxes for Pie and some others, an Edgeworth for Dahlias, and I owe Monday another set of Hetalia papercraft dolls for her to do horrible things with.

I then ventured out with Pie, Monday, two more friend of ours for Valentine’s Day dinner. We dubbed it the Lothrop Love Fest, and went to a Japanese restaurant in Squirrel Hill. We went back to Lothrop afterwards, and Monday and I spent about two hours finishing up the awful love poem valentines.

At nine, we packed everything up and went to the Oakland Tea House to pass out the valentines. People started trading them with each other to see all the poems. They were a hit, and Monday kept watch for any late arrivals so that everyone would have one.

Poor Monday, though. She, I, and two other guys were playing a game of Parcheesi when Monday suddenly realized that two guys that were sitting in the back never got valentines. She jumped up to hand them out. One of the guys (Who I have renamed Cheese Pizza, for no other reason than I could), finished his turn, looked over to where Monday was, and said, “Oh, I forgot to tell her that those two are really hardcore Christians.”

The three of us that were still sitting at our table watched as Monday passed them out. When Monday returned, Cheeze Pizza told her about the two guys, and Monday told us that she knew. The two gave her the valentines back, and she showed us which ones they were.

One is about sacrificing virgins. The other is about homosexuality. It just so happened that instead of handing them one of our safe, cute poems (We had a few since we knew not everyone shared our sense of humor), Monday drew those particular to give to them instead. What’s worse, one of them was Japanese, and couldn’t read English very well, so Monday had to read his poem out loud and explain it for him. Awkward.

Poor Monday. =P

Sunday, Monday, Dahlia, and I ordered take out and sat in our floor’s lounge as we talked and I attempted some Moyashimon papercraft.

Overall, probably the best Valentine’s Day (Valentine’s Weekend, really) I’ve ever had. ❤ you guys so much.
